Who knew!...Add a teaspoon each of vodka and sugar to water to keep freshly cut flowers looking great. The vodka kills the bacteria that would otherwise grow in the water, and the sugar provides nutrients the flowers need to thrive. When the flowers do die... drink the water... nah! Better not.

Someone also said, many years ago, that an aspirin in the water will also help keep the bloom fresh. I know an aspirin keeps my bloom fresh. That's usually after the vodka. Lauging emoji Somebody stop me!
